The 2024 Ceremony will be held on May 17 at the Menominee Casino Resort
The College of Menominee Nation (CMN) will be hosting its 2024 Commencement on a Friday this year. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on May 17 in the Five Clans Ballroom of the Menominee Casino Resort. A reception will follow at the College’s Keshena Campus.
The Commencement Speaker for this year’s event is Danielle Yancey, Director of the Native American Center for Health Professions at the School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Wisconsin-Madison, which strives to improve Indigenous peoples and communities' health and well-being. Yancey grew up on the Menominee Reservation and is an alumna of the Menominee Indian School District. She has served twenty years in public service, focusing on programs that promote social justice, education access, and equity. Yancey has her undergraduate degrees from UW-Madison, a Master of Science, and a sustainability leadership graduate certificate from Edgewood College.
This year’s student speaker is Betsy Trudeau, who will be graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. In 2019, Trudeau earned her Associate degree in Liberal Studies from CMN and served as Student Government President in 2018. Trudeau comes from the Hannahville Potawatomi Community, but has lived on the Menominee Reservation for 12 years, where she has raised her three children. She aspires to teach within the Menominee School District.
Breakfast with the College President will be held the day before for graduates to rehearse and receive a portfolio headshot. CMN is so proud of the class’ accomplishments, and we hope the community can join us in celebrating.
Congratulations, 2024 graduates!
