Letter From President

Greetings from CMN President
S. Verna Fowler, Ph.D.

Welcome to the College of Menominee Nation’s Web site.

The people you meet in these pages are part of an exciting venture. They are the faculty, staff and students of CMN. Together, they are committed to higher learning, career preparation and community development based on the historic values of the Menominee people and other American Indian tribes.

These values speak to the challenges facing our world today. They include thoughtful stewardship of the Earth and its resources. The concept of “sustainability,” which is discussed widely today among governments and citizen groups, is deeply ingrained in the Menominee culture. CMN’s Sustainable Development Institute serves as a focus for our sustainability research and learning. Our Education Outreach program links campus resources to the needs and interests of neighboring communities and industry. The principles of learning that inform sustainable living reach across all of our academic and career programs – from nursing, education and business to the humanities, sciences and social sciences.

You will find students and faculty of CMN doing research in the beautiful heritage forests and rural communities surrounding our Keshena campus. They are equally at home pursing studies in the prosperous urban setting of our Green Bay campus. At both sites, CMN offers modern classroom technology, well qualified faculty, small class size and personal attention.

I hope you will enjoy this digital glimpse at our world and that you will visit in person as well. Wherever you are from, whatever your background, know that you are welcome at College of Menominee Nation.
