Accuplacer Testing

What is the Accuplacer test?
The Accuplacer test is a placement test that helps identify skill levels in Math and English and helps place students in the correct classes. Most new CMN students are required to take the test before they can register for classes for the first time. The time it takes to complete the test depends on the student.  Some finish in as little as 45 minutes and others use up the entire allotted two and a half hours.

Who needs to take it?

    1. New students including:
        1. Transfer students
        2. Students seeking re-admission
        3. High school students participating in youth programs

    2. If students have achieved the following, they do NOT need to take the test:
        1. Completed an Associate degree or higher

What kind of score do I have to get?
There is no right or wrong score, but students may need to meet minimal Accuplacer scores to gain admission into certain programs or courses at CMN. If students are unable to reach certain scores for placement into CMN courses, students may go to Skill Builder Labs where they may get assistance in studying for the test. Skill Builder Labs are located at both the Keshena and Oneida/Green Bay campuses. Students may retake the test until they meet minimal scores or take pre-college classes.

When and Where do I take the test?
The College of Menominee Nation offers the Accuplacer test at both the Keshena and Oneida/Green Bay Campuses. Students may call to make an appointment at either campus. The Keshena campus requires students to make an appointment; and walk-ins are available at the Oneida/Green Bay campus.
