College of Menominee Nation Library

The College Of Menominee Nation Library is a separate building located on the south side of the main building. The library serves the college community of students, faculty, and staff. Students, faculty, and staff need a college ID in order to check out books and audio visual materials like music CDs, or movies on VHS or DVD. Computers are located in various stations throughout the library for students, faculty, and staff. There are a limited number of laptops that will be available for use within the library.

A multimedia viewing room is available for anyone wishing to view a movie, listen to music, or have a small meeting. There is a periodical area that has current and older issues of scholarly journals and American Indian newspapers. This area has a private secluded section with a beautiful view, comfortable seating, and tables and chairs.

The library also serves the broader community through a partnership with NEW ERA. As a resident of northeastern Wisconsin, a community member may check out books with a valid ID. A limited number of computers will be available for community members. People will need to sign in to have access to the computers.

With the new library building, the college made every attempt to create a green building following LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design guidelines). One aspect of this was to include geo thermal heating and cooling for the library. This will allow the library to save energy and cut down on long term costs.
