Institutional Research & Assessment (IRA) Mission Statement

The mission for the Institutional Research and Assessment Office at the College of Menominee Nation is to provide reliable and valid data to faculty, staff, administration, Board members, students, community members, and college constituents in support of data-driven decision making, grant requirements, policy formation, and strategic planning for the College of Menominee Nation.

Insitutional Research & Assessment (IRA) Reporting and Responsibilities

The Institutional Research & Assessment (IRA) Office at the College of Menominee Nation is under the direction of the Director of Institutional Research and formally reports to the Vice President of Planning & Management Systems. Institutional research serves all aspects of CMN’s work, including:

  • Coordinating internal & external survey research
  • Conducting special research & assessment projects
  • Compiling & reporting official College data facts & figures
  • Responding to special requests for data
  • Consulting through data-gathering activities in CMN departments
  • Encouraging data reporting practices that make for higher levels of consistency and accuracy across CMN
  • Completing requests for data from outside agencies (i.e. Federal, State, Tribal)
  • Compiling CMN College Annual Data Fact Book & publications
  • Administrating the Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) student assessment
  • Reviewing all CMN grants and projects

Institutional Research & Assessment (IRA) Professional Ethics

The Institutional Research & Assessment (IRA) Office at the College of Menominee Nation (CMN) adheres to the Code of Ethics established by the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) that was adopted by its membership in 1992, and also adheres to the United States Department of Education regulations outlined in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ( FERPA, 20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34CFR Part 99).
