WORK SUMMARY: The Financial Aid Director is responsible for the day-to-day function of providing financial aid services to the students of College of Menominee Nation. The Financial Aid Director provides for the determination of aid eligibility, the packaging of student financial aid, and submission of required reports in accordance with guidelines and regulations provided by the College, Tribal, federal and state governments, and other private funding sources. The Director leads the office of student financial services as an office that is proactive in working with families and students to plan and apply for funding that will help finance their education while at CMN in a hospitable and welcoming environment. In addition, s/he must create a financial aid services office that promotes early and regular interaction with families about the intricacies of financial aid, financing an education, and the timely resolution of student accounts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ¨ Administer college student funding (U.S. Dept. of Education, Title IV and State of Wisconsin) and scholarship awards that includes supervision of student file development, expenditure control and timely filing of all required reports in accordance with applicable regulations. ¨ Administer the College’s student work-study program funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education. ¨ Determine annual cost of attendance and student budgets through survey mechanisms. ¨ Provide appropriate College administrators with information concerning changes in Tribal, Federal, and State requirements and regulations. ¨ Maintain College agreements with, applications to and official reporting obligations to Tribal, federal, and state governments. ¨ Annually have a file review for document requirements and file completion by an independent consultant. ¨ Work with the Business Office to reconcile all financial aid accounts by the end of the fiscal year. ¨ Advise students and their families concerning the financial aid process. ¨ Represent CMN and the Financial Aid Office at internal and external events. ¨ Coordinate community financial aid workshops and orientation. ¨ Develop financial aid policies and procedures in coordination with the appropriate CMN committees of the Board of Directors and supervisors and in accordance to federal, state and tribal regulations. ¨ Maintain expenditure control accounts for department budget and work closely with appropriate department staff to monitor expenses and student billing accounts. ¨ Coordinate with recruitment/admissions staff to provide financial aid and veteran benefit information to prospective students. ¨ Act as liaison with Tribal education offices. ¨ Maintain necessary statistical information/data for information to CMN administrators, Board of Directors, and federal/state agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS: ¨ Require a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. ¨ Desire prior experience in record management, accounting, or general administration. ¨ Must have work experience with individuals of various social, economic, racial, ethnic, gender and disability backgrounds. ¨ Must possess excellent human relations skills with experience in meeting and working with the public. ¨ Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, keyboarding, and database management. ¨ Must be a team player that works cooperatively, effectively and accurately. ¨ Must be able to be bonded. ¨ Must have excellent oral and written communications skills. ¨ Must be self-directed and possess the ability to work successfully in a multi-task environment. ¨ Must be able to travel, occasionally on short notice, therefore must possess a valid Wisconsin driver license and liability insurance.
