Brennan Waupoose, a student at the College of Menominee Nation, was selected to represent all tribal colleges as a student ambassador at the annual American Indian College Fund's Flame of Hope Gala. The black tie fund raising event was held in October 10, 2013, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Each year, 10 students among an enrollment of 30,000 across the country are chosen to be ambassadors at the American Indian College Fund's gala. Selection is based on their academic excellence and ability to represent their communities by networking with potential donors and guests. The American Indian College Fund raised approximately $550,000 to support Native student scholarships. Proceeds benefit Native education at CMN and other tribal colleges.
