Curtain Going Up

Solar energy, climate issues, regional research, and student theater with a scientific twist


6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 7, Cultural Learning Center, College of Menominee Nation. Free and open to all. Reception to follow. Learn what’s new on stage at CMN:

  • Area students and CMN faculty at work on locally focused applied solar energy research supported by major national agencies including NASA, the National Science Foundation, Argonne National Laboratory and National Council for Science and Environment.
  • Preliminary research results on solar technology efficiency being studied here in Northeast Wisconsin.
  • An original short play showing what happens when the performing arts meet scientific knowledge, “Solar Energy Research Institute Goes to Washington.”

Hosts and presenters are CMN’s Solar Energy Research Institute Director, Dr. Lisa Bosman, and CMN’s Professor of Theater Arts, Ryan Winn, with students Sarah Brei, Lloyd Frieson, Chelsey Haberl, Lincoln Peters, and Travis Spice.
