A recent chance conversation between Susan Waukau of CMN's Advancement Office and an in-flight seat mate resulted in a special opportunity for a group of the College's students. After hearing from Waukau about the College of Menominee Nation's STEM programs, the founder of Cherney Microbiological Services make a gracious invitation for CMN students to tour her firm's laboratory in Green Bay.

The College's STEM Resource Coordinator Jennifer Morris led the group on the May 15 visit. Student participants were Alex Adamski, Sarah Brei, Lloyd Frieson, Chance Latender, Chelsey Latender, Lincoln Peters and Travis Spice.

Cherney Microbiological Services is an ISO-accredited food testing laboratory and proficiency program provider. The firm's main facility is in Green Bay, with a second location in Clovis, New Mexico.
