President, CEO and Chairman of the Board, Norman Shawanokasic, presents MTE's donation to Dr. Verna Fowler at the College of Menominee Nation.

Menominee students attending the College of Menominee Nation will be the beneficiary of a generous donation made by Menominee Tribal Enterprises earlier this Spring. MTE's President Norman Shawanokasic, on behalf of the Menominee Tribal Enterprises Board of Directors, presented a check for $7,500 to the College's President, Dr. Verna Fowler. The gift makes MTE the Lead Sponsor in CMN's 5th Annual Benefit Golf Outing.

As Lead Sponsor, MTE is helping leverage event proceeds for scholarships for the second consecutive year. Over its life, the benefit outing has raised more than $68,000 in support of the College. MTE's contribution in 2014 provided scholarship awards of up to $1,000 for students who are enrolled or descendant Menominee.

“MTE continues to support the Menominee community by assisting these educational endeavors and as a result making the tenure for a quality education a smoother transition," President Shawanokasic states. "Helping Menominee students to further their education and supporting the Tribal College that was created by the Menominee People are exactly the kinds of partnerships we want to foster. I'm happy to represent Menominee Tribal Enterprises in presenting this assistance to the College of the Menominee Nation.”

The golf outing is annually attracting about 150 participants for play and a banquet held at the Thornberry Creek course, with the 2015 event held on June 12. Information on the benefit outing is available on the CMN website -, or by e-mailing
