Fall Events Focus on Midwest Climate Topics and Indigenous Food, Energy, Water Systems

CMN's Interim President, Christopher Caldwell, is among presenters this week Friday, Sept. 25, in a virtual workshop panel discussion on Indigenous Co-Innovation at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems. It begins at 11 a.m. Central time. Register for the workshop here.

President Caldwell and representatives of four other tribal colleges and universities speak during the 11 o’clock session on “Tribal College FEWS Capacity Building.” A follow-up session at 1 p.m. features four additional TCU representatives addressing “Pathways to FEWS Degrees.”

The Midwest Climate Summit begins its fall programming with a kick-off event on Friday, Oct. 2, and continues with five virtual events on subsequent dates. The “Think Tank” series of keynote addresses and workshops will be presented on Fridays between Oct. 9 and Nov. 20. Featured speakers include Caldwell, who served for many years as Director of CMN's Sustainable Development Institute, and national notables such as Robert Bullard, known as one of the most influential people on climate policy and considered by many as the Father of Environmental Justice.

The Midwest Climate Summit is the result of collaboration among more than 20 Midwestern colleges and universities, local governments, and non-profit and private organizations. Information on the October-November programs is available here.
