Seven Generation Inter-Tribal Leadership Summit - September 28-30

College of Menominee Nation Alumni Encouraged to Attend

Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University will be hosting the Seven Generation Inter-Tribal Leadership Summit in collaboration with the College of Menominee Nation (CMN) and the University of Wisconsin System September 28-30, 2022. There are four key areas for participants to learn from educators and professionals:

  • education/technology/culture and language reclamation;
  • economic/workforce development;
  • health/medicine/safety;
  • and environment: research/protection/policy/legislation. 

CMN will be sponsoring two alumni to attend the summit covering room, board, and fees. If interested in attending, please reach out to Michaela Welch by email at as soon as possible. Students and elders can register to attend the event for free. 

This summit will give participants the opportunity to network and develop partnerships in tribal communities. Local keynote speakers for the summit include; Burton Warrington (MenominiYou), Norman Shawanokasic (CMN), and Nathan Fregien (CMN). For additional information and to see an agenda, visit
