It wouldn't be a public library without a plethora of programs and fun activities for members of our community to participate in. Whether it's our monthly Treasure Hunt, the Summer Reading Program, or any one of our numerous, recurring monthly programs, we're sure there's something to deepen your love of reading and your appreciation for the community it can inspire.

These programs are open to all, at anytime.

CMN Treasure Hunt

Have fun with the whole family with this month-long game! Each month features a new game with all new riddles and clues to figure out. Each participant gets a participation prize AND is entered into the grand prize drawing at the end of the month. Currently, this program is done online. Community Computers

In the CMN Library, we have multiple computers available for community use. We do ask that those with professional or educational development needs have priority (i.e. if only one computer available and two people want to go on, one to fill out job application, the other to browse Facebook, Library staff may allow the first person to go on computer due to professional development needs).

Computers are a privilege, and Library staff have the ability to terminate a patron's time on the computer if the patron does not comply with the community computer agreement. The agreement states that patrons must adhere to the following rules: no downloading to the computer, no inappropriate sites, no cyber bullying, as well as following all other CMN computer policies.

Printing, Copying, & Scanning

We offer many computer amenities including printing, copying, and scanning. To print at the Library using the community computers, please be aware of the following:

1. Printing costs $0.10 per page printed - this includes all the pages printed.

2. Please use Print Preview before printing. Each page printed is charged, to make sure you are only printing the pages needed (or not printing that last page of just the website information), please use the print preview option.

3. Copying costs $0.15 per page in black and white, $0.25 for color.

4. Scanning/Emailing does not cost anything, however the printer may require a CMN email. To get around this, the scanned document may be sent to Library staff member, then forwarded to intended recipient.

Inter-Library Loans

Inter-Library Loan (ILL) is a program that allows patrons to request books and other materials from other libraries that we are connected with. Patrons can fill out the request form and a Library Staff Member will search for your request. Most items take 1-2 weeks to arrive. Deliveries are usually on Wednesdays. Please be mindful of these dates if an item if needed at a certain time.

In order for CMN Library to maintain our relationship with these other libraries, items need to be returned on time. If a renewal is needed, please contact the inter-library loan staff member at libill@menominee.edu or 715-799-6226 ext. 3003.

Summer Reading Program

During the summer, the Library hosts a reading challenge for all ages with logs, prizes, and drawings. In June, the Summer Reading Program begins with a kickoff event where you can register, pick up some swag to start off your reading journey and information on the details. Throughout the program, earn prizes and rewards for reading! Watch our Facebook page (@CMNLibrary) or here on the website for information when we get closer to the next Summer Reading Program.

Community Read (Inactive)

For a long time, the Library was happy to showcase an different author and one of their books twice a year with events centered around the book, themes from it, or events it mentions. The Library was able to provide copies of the book for free to the community. The Community Reads each ended with a visit from the Author who presented to those who attended. The program is currently not running.

Book Circle

Breathe and Bead

Relax and craft with us during this twice-a-month program. Beading supplies and materials are available and all crafts are welcome to join. This program is in-person at the Library in the Classroom (ask a Library staff member if in need of assistance finding the room).

During 2020, Breathe and Bead moved to an online learning structure. Janice Rabideaux and others helped to teach different projects, beading styles, and share ideas with participants. If you'd like to see the videos, check out our YouTube playlist.

The Library's Library of Things is a somewhat hidden gem - and this program takes the opportunity about once-a-month to highlight some of the items you can check out from this collection. From photo backdrops to air fryers, from a telescope to a ninja obstacle course, this Library of Things has something for everyone.

Try-It Tuesday

What's Cookin'

Find out what's cooking every second and fourth Thursday as we get together with FoodWIse and Menominee Food Distribution to talk about some nutritional information and learn a new recipe with a live cooking demonstration. You can ask questions and comment live with us during these videos, or even ask a question later and our co-hosts are always happy to further your food knowledge.
