Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program and Workshop Series

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a new idea in farming that reconnects families back to a local farmer who grows their food. Members receive shares in the farm’s bounty throughout the growing season, as well as satisfaction gained from reconnecting to the land and enjoying a direct link to a fresh, healthy, local food source.

The College of Menominee Nation is conducting a pilot CSA program on the Menominee Reservation with a grant from the American Indian Higher Education Consortium. Thirty families are enrolled in the program for the 2019 growing season and will receive approximately 18 weeks of chemical free vegetables, delivered as early as the second week in June through mid-October, depending on frost. The CSA operate through McDougal’s Farm in Antigo, WI.
