Let the Festivities Begin!

CMN will be hosting their 2024 Commencement at
the Menominee Casino Resort Conference Center
on Friday, May 17th in the Five Clans Ballroom.
The ceremony will begin at 10AM.

Commencement Week Schedule of Events

  • High School Recognition Event: May 15th.
    • 5-7 pm (invite only) at Menominee Casino Resort
  • Commencement Rehearsal: May 16th.
    • 9AM (graduates only) at Menominee Casino Resort
  • Commencement: May 17th.
    • Students should plan to arrive by 8:30
    • Class picture will be taken at 9, they will lineup at 9:30, and commencement starts at 10 am

      • Reception to follow at CMN Campus

Keynote & Student Speakers


 

Commencement Speaker: Danielle Yancey

 


The Commencement Speaker for this year’s event is Danielle Yancey, Director of the Native American Center for Health Professions at the School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Wisconsin-Madison, which strives to improve Indigenous peoples and communities' health and well-being. Yancey grew up on the Menominee Reservation and is an alumna of the Menominee Indian School District. She has served twenty years in public service, focusing on programs that promote social justice, education access, and equity. Yancey has her undergraduate degrees from UW-Madison, a Master of Science, and a sustainability leadership graduate certificate from Edgewood College. 

Student Speaker: Betsy Trudeau

 


 

This year’s student speaker is Betsy Trudeau, who will be graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. In 2019, Trudeau earned her Associate degree in Liberal Studies from CMN and served as Student Government President in 2018. Trudeau comes from the Hannahville Potawatomi Community, but has lived on the Menominee Reservation for 12 years, where she has raised her three children. She aspires to teach within the Menominee School District.
