RNTE - Charter Week Recap

Our first "theme week" for the greater Restoring Nations through Education celebration focused on the history of the College of Menominee Nation
and its development as part of a broader tribal college movement across Indian Country. We strived to center ourselves on simple recognition of the College founders,
and recognition of the Tribal nations served as represented by CMN alumni.

Below, you'll find highlights from our Charter Week events.

Celebrating Successes: Educational Journeys

Past and present CMN students shared their success stories with us as we reflect on the last thirty years.

President's Message:
Honoring Leaders Past & Present

At this month's all-employee President's Message, CMN leaders from past and present sat on a panel
reflecting on the past 30 years and envisioning what the future may hold for CMN.

Flag Raising Ceremony

The College of Menominee Nation was built by many individuals, partners, and institutions that have brought us together under the familiar Menominee clans logo.
In 2019, during a time of change in leadership, the College’s Board of Directors approved a new logo.
This logo proves to maintain the historical integrity of our Menominee clans logo while bringing elements that fit with our heritage.
This new logo few over the College campus for the first time at a flag raising ceremony.

Featured speakers at this ceremony included Rachelle Katchenago, Dennis Kenote, and a performance by Marcus Denny.

Book Signing:
A Trillion Trees

Freelance author and London-based journalist Fred Pearce visited CMN for a live Q&A, an interview with President Caldwell, and a signing of his most recent release,
A Trillion Trees: How We Can Reforest Our World.

Employee Luncheon
and Recognition

Reflecting on 30 years of the College,
employees were honored for their years of service.

This is just the first of CMN's six weeks celebrating our Restoring Nations Through Education initiative.
We hope to see you at our next events.

Proper use and restrictions on the use of the CMN 30th Anniversary Logo can be found on our Staff Portal's Advancement Page.
