Campus Sustainability

The Sustainable Development Institute works within the College of Menominee Nation to preserve and communicate the concepts of a more than 12,000 year-old tribal value of sustainability. SDI works on a variety of on-campus sustainability projects.

College of Menominee Nation also offers its students, staff, faculty and all community members to sign a Sustainability Pledge.

2016 Climate Action Plan

In 2016, the Sustainability Committee completed a yearlong Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) project to update the campus Climate Action Plan (CAP). As a signatory college of the American College and Universities Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), the new CAP provides a means to assist the College in becoming climate neutral. The CAP is an inclusive comprehensive plan that embraces input and participation from faculty, staff, students, and community members.

Sustainability Pledge

The College of Menominee Nation has committed itself to achieving sustainability through operations and research activities. However, we also offer our students, staff, faculty, and any outside community members to the opportunity to sign the CMN Sustainability Pledge.

At the CMN 2013 Earth Day event, many people signed the 2013 pledge poster. For information on how you can live a more sustainable lifestyle, check out the CMN Pledge. In 2014 and 2016, the pledge signing continued at the Earth Day Celebrations hosted by CMN SDI.
